Continuing the Twitter Convo… Why you CAN homeschool

I shared a tweet from Jeremy Wayne Tate and for some reason, it started a wildfire.  A lot of people are convinced that it is impossible for the average person to homeschool.

Asking about the actual possibility of homeschooling… so I went in and did what I do.  I helped in them homeschool streets!

How can I homeschool if I don’t know everything?

How can I homeschool and continue to make a living?

What about socialization?

All of these questions were answered, in my live q&a.

Homeschooling or Naw? Part IV

This is the fourth and final episode of the “Homeschooling or Naw?” series and we focused on why struggling with a curriculum isn’t a good way to tell if homeschooling is for you.

People tend to think that because they’ve picked a curriculum and it’s not working, that they shouldn’t be homeschooling. That’s not how it works. There are 5 things you should do to start homeschooling and guess what? Finding the curriculum isn’t even in the top 3.

If you missed Homeschooling or Naw? Part I – III you can catch them below!

Homeschooling or Naw? Part II

This is a continuation of Homeschooling or Naw? Part I but the conversation went way different than I expected and that’s okay!  The #GuruClique asked the questions they needed answers to!

We talked about two things in particular and one of them was the fact that we are ALL scared and sometimes we have to take a leap and #DoItScared!  Some of us #DoItScared everyday, but we get the job done.  We learn with our kids and remember that there are new mercies every morning.

We also talked about working and homeschooling.  I recommended my best-selling book “African-American Homeschooling Mompreneurs” and gave the tips I use to successfully work and homeschool!

There’s more… check out Part III & Part IV

Homeschooling or Naw?

Is homeschooling right for you?  With the current state of things, a lot of families are turning to homeschool.  Homeschooling has become an option for so many families.  Whether it’s having the autonomy to teach what they want, mask mandates, or the urge to protect their family from the pandemic.

Here are some questions you should ask yourself to determine if homeschooling is right for you and your family.

  1. Are you worried about what is being taught or what is being used?
  2. Is a tailor-made education important?
  3. Do you want to give them a high-quality education, such as dual-enrollment, associate’s, or bachelor’s degree before they’re 18?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then watch the video below.  Homeschooling may be for you.
